I hate giving flowers.

Why?

Because I think flowers are a flawed symbol for representing affection/love.

Imagine someone gives you roses and saying “this symbolizes my love for you”. Would you feel happy to receive flowers that hardly last a week and then wither and die, combined with those words when given?

My ex used to complain to me that I never gave her flowers… So once, as a surprise, I brought a nice bouqet with me… She forgot to cut off the stems of the roses, didn’t put the special stuff in the water that should preserve them longer, and forgot to give them water at all. Needless to say the flowers were dead in a week. So much for romance, so much for a symbol of love. Needless to say after witnessing what happened to the flowers I was even more declined to give them.

I’d rather give other small presents that might even last longer than love itself, like furry plush toys, or a romantic love dice.

Anything but flowers…

Besides being active with designing websites and working on radio.blog.club (it’s like last.fm) she also makes excellent artwork which I recommend you to watch.

I met Sampie during December last year thru the dating site PaiQ where I received an “OneLiner” on one of my photos. I was flabbergasted at first, because I didn’t expect to receive something like that. At that moment I was in a relationship that was in a sorry state of dying and Sampie is one of the people important and dear to me that helped me through this period.

We met first time face-to-face on a nice Saturday two weeks ago and have decided to go to the zoo. It was a lot of fun, although the animals were a little lazy. We had nice talks about all kinds of different things, and I felt very relaxed, as if I’ve known her already for a lifetime.
